BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!! 

We EXTENDED our JUNE camp an extra day to bring in Jason Gray (Studio C & JK Studios)!! 

5 days of improv, comedy, team work & creativity with JesterZ owner Jef Rawls

Jason will teach a FULL DAY of Characters, Acting, Sketch & Comedy
on Saturday June 25th starting at 9am!

Culminating in a showcase for family & friends!!  

MONDAY & TUESDAY – Instructor:  Jef Rawls

Listening – It’s a world-wide epidemic that kids don’t listen.  And there’s not a lot of summer camps that focus on the SKILL of listening.  Improv is about creating together and REQUIRES that we listen to each other.  It’s the #1 rule in improv!

Yes, And – On stage, we teach them to say “yes” to the reality which is being created, to stay positive and support the ideas that are being given by their partner.  In real life “yes, and” teaches kids to listen, contribute to the conversation and to be way more positive, even about the most difficult tasks.  (Kids saying “Yes, And” to cleaning their rooms is all we could ever want)

Team Work – We reinforce the individual contributing to the success of the whole.  Each kid and their imagination work with 1-10 other people to create amazing scenes on the spot.  Requires listening skills!

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY – Instructor: Jef Rawls

Improv Games – Structures, rules, and guidelines allow for creative freedom to flourish.  Fun theater games that set up the team & individual for success.  Many of the same games you see the professional comedians perform!  This is where the FUNNY happens!

FRIDAY – Instructor: Jef Rawls & other JesterZ from the Main Stage Cast

Improv Characters – Playing characters and making bold choices can be really fun!  It also teaches us empathy.  To play someone else besides ourselves teaches us to think in a different perspective, teaches us to have perception.

SATURDAY – Instructor:  Jason Gray

JASON GRAY WORKSHOP – Characters, Acting, Sketch, Comedy and whatever additional knowledge Jason imparts!

SATURDAY 3pm – Student Showcase – hosted by Jef & Jason

Youth Summer Camp Schedule:

*Summer camp is Monday – Friday from 10am-4pm each day.*  Saturday will begin at 9am and end approx 4:30

Each morning begins with connecting with the team through FUN and interactive warm up games.  Wake up the brain with quick thinking exercises and activities & wake up the body through movement.  With a focus on give and take, we’ll learn to respect each other and ideas.

After we are warmed up, we will get on stage and practice improv skills through scene-work.  Learn improv and acting techniques that are universal.

Lunch (12:30-1:10).  Students must bring their own lunch.  We have a fridge, but no microwave.  WE PROVIDE WATERS.   *** Saturday Lunch is provided by JesterZ! We will have a PIZZA PARTY!  ***

After Lunch, we’ll break out into smaller groups and focus on learning improv games for performance.

LAST DAY OF CAMP:  SHOWCASE for family and friends!!
