FAQ Jester

Do campers bring lunch?
Campers will need to bring a bag lunch daily. There will not be access to a refrigerator or microwave.

Is there water available?
Yes!  We will have bottle water available for all campers throughout the day, so no need to pack water.

What is your snack policy?
There are both morning and afternoon break times. Students are welcome to bring a snack from home, or can purchase snacks from our snack bar. Most items are around $2 and the snack bar is open during morning break, lunch and afternoon break.  We do limit each camper to 1 soda and 1 candy purchase a day.

What is the morning drop-off procedure?
On the first day of camp, all campers need to be signed in by a parent or guardian. After that, parents can make the decision whether they prefer to park and walk their students to the back theater door, or pull up in the back of the theater and drop campers off. Instructors will be in the theater 10 minutes prior to the start of class, so please do not drop off students prior to 8:50am.

What is the afternoon pick-up procedure?
Instructors will stand with campers outside the back of the theater each day at 4pm.  It is essential that parents pick their students up on time at the end of class each day. Late pick-ups after 4:15pm will not have guaranteed supervision and may be subject to a late pick up fee.

Will campers be outside during the day?
All activities as well as lunches will take place indoors. Campers will only be outside during pick up at the end of the day.

What is your discipline procedure?
In the event that a camper acts up or is out of line for any reason we will first pull him/her aside and address the concern directly with them.  If the behavior continues our next course of action will be to notify the parents and if their is a third instance the camper will be removed from camp and no refund will be issued.

Will there be a performance at the end of the week?
Absolutely!  There will be a performance showcase on Friday at 3pm (doors open at 2:30pm).  Friends and family are highly encouraged to attend and support their campers.

Is there a cost to see the performance showcase?
It is completely FREE!

What should my child wear to camp?
Campers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers they can easily move around in.

My child is very shy. Will this camp be appropriate for him/her?
Yes! Our instructors have a great rapport with campers and are very adept at accommodating everyone’s needs. Oftentimes improv skills learned at camp can help kids come out of their shell.

My child has never done improv before, can they participate?
Absolutely. Because our camp focus on building essential skills, such as team work, communication, and emotional listening, Jester’Z Summer Camps are perfect for both beginners, as well as more experienced campers.

My child has taken several classes at JesterZ in the past, will he/she be bored?
Impossible!  What’s great about improv is that it is always something new.  Additionally, at the beginning of camp and depending on the size of the group the students will be separated into groups either by age and/or experience level.

Are the June and July sessions the same thing?
Yes…AND…No! The structure will be the same, but with improv it is always new.  Also, depending on the group students will be separated into groups either by age and/or experience level, so if your child went to the June camp in July he/she will be part of the advanced group.
